THE DEPARTMENT OF CARDIOLOGY IS ORGANISED TO FUNCTION IN THE FOLLOWING WAY :
  1. DEPARTMENT OF OUTPATIENT SERVICE BETWEEN 8 AM TO 12 PM ON ALL DAYS EXCEPT SUNDAYS.
 
  1. CALLS ARE ATTENDED DAILY ALL THE 24 HOURS, AVERAGE 15 CASES PER DAY FROM ALL THE DEPARTMENTS ( MEDICINE, GENERAL SURGERY, PEDIATRICS, O&G, TRAUMA WARD, ORTHOPAEDICS AND OTHER SPECIALITIES).
 
  1. REFERENCE FROM WARDS ARE ATTENDED DURING THE WORKING HOURS.
 
  1. CARDIAC PATIENTS ARE DIVIDED INTO THREE CATEGORIES:
ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE ( TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY FOR OUTPATIENTS ONLY)
HYPERTENSIVE HEART DISEASE
CONGENITAL,  RHEUMATIC AND MISCELLANEOUS HEART DISEASES ON ALL DAYS.

INTENSIVE CORONARY CARE UNIT:

INTENSIVE CORONARY CARE UNIT WAS INAGURATED ON 06 -02- 1979, WITH FOUR BEDS, FOUR BEDSIDE MONITORS, ONE CENTRAL MONITOR, ONE PACEMAKER, ONE MANUAL DEFIBRILLATOR.
 THIS WAS THE FIRST ICCU STARTED IN DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS IN THE STATE.  ECHO, COLOUR DOPPLER, TMT SERVICES  WERE INAGURATED ON 15- 03-1999.

SUPERSPECIALITY HOSPITAL IS FUNCTIONING WITH ALL THE FACILITIES LIKE 3D ECHO(ADULT & PAEDIATRICS) TRANS ESOPHAGEAL ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY, CONTRAST ECHO, STRESS ECHO, TMT 24 ECG HOLTE R MONITOR , CORONARY ANGIOGRAM, ANGIIOPLASTY, PAEDIATRICS INTERVENTIONAL PROCEDURES, PACEMAKER IMPLANTATION WIYH ALL SUPPORTIVE STAFFS, CARDIOLOGY DEPARTMENT WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE TERTIARY CARE TO ALL CARDIAC PATIENTS IN THIS REGION.

REGULAR TEACHING PROGRAMME FOR POST GRADUATES, UNDER-GRADUATE, NURSING STUDENTS.  ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE TO POST-GRADUETES FOR THEIR  DISSERTATIONS AE ALSO PROVIDED.
